Welcome to the Kelly Family
We’re Ian and Stephanie, along with our daughters Lilly and Rosie. Our home is filled with joy, music, warmth, and faith, and blessed with a close-knit extended family. Ian is a professional singer in the Army who regularly performs at the White House, and Stephanie is a therapist with her own private practice. As a blended family, we’ve learned that family is built through love, support, and simply showing up for one another. We’d love to share that warmth, joy, and love with a child.
Our Story
Our family as we know it today began in 2021, when Steph and Ian met. Steph was living with Lilly in Kentucky, while Ian was living with Rosie just outside Washington, DC. The romance was a whirlwind, and it didn’t take long for us to realize that we were meant to spend eternity together.
We were married on February 11, 2022, on the rooftop of the Kennedy Center, accompanied only by our officiant, Lilly and Rosie, with our parents joining us by FaceTime. Four months later, we were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Louisville, KY Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
And just like that, the Kelly Family began.
Over the next few years, we grew closer as a family and continued hoping to grow our little Kelly clan. After facing infertility, we pursued IVF, and after what felt like miracle after miracle, we were blessed with our third daughter, Georgia.
Georgia was born three weeks early at just four pounds and faced several significant health challenges. After a month together, Georgia passed away. Losing her was devastating, but the time we had with her brought us some of the sweetest moments of our lives and drew our family even closer together.
We continued hoping to grow our family, but after more loss and the challenges of stage 4 endometriosis, we were told in early 2026 that biological children were no longer an option for us.
But we knew something very clearly from the early moments of our relationship discussing adoption and fostering: we still had so much love to give.
We know how precious the gift of a child is, and we hope to share the joy, love, faith, and peace that fill our home with a child and, in doing so, honor the little girl who taught us so much about love in the short time we had with her.
Our family story may not have unfolded the way we imagined, but we have learned that some of the most beautiful chapters are the ones we never could have written ourselves.
